Uživatelé webu YouTube nyní každý den zhlédnou přes 100 milionů videosnímků a podnik samotný má podle výzkumných firem větší podíl na trhu než obdobné služby společnosti Google.
YouTube sice oznámil, že podepsal několik smluv o distribuci obrazového materiálu, analytici přesto podotýkají, že Google si tímto nákupem na sebe ušije bič. Pokud se prý YouTube ocitne pod křídly lídra v oboru, tedy firmy Google, je možné, že se na něj navalí vlna žalob. Investoři si ale prozatím žádné problémy nepřipouštějí, což je znát v růstu ceny akcií Google.
